My Writing

A 90s kid turned indie author, weaving nostalgia, heartache, and small-town magic into stories that feel like a mixtape of first love, lost time, and the ones who got away.

What you can expect from my Writing

I write to heal which is why all of my stories cover mental illness and the importance of mental health in depth. I don’t shy away from tackling sensitive topics and raw, real-life issues. As someone who has struggled with her mental health for over twenty years, I want my readers to feel seen. Life is beautiful chaos and I showcase how although we are all a little broken, everyone deserves love and on the journey to happily ever after we learn how to love ourselves first.

One of my firmest beliefs is that you can’t love anyone else unless you’re able to love yourself. I depict the internal struggles we all face as we seek acceptance not only from others but from ourselves and emphasize the importance of being comfortable in our own skin. This includes discovering one’s sexuality.

Because all of my books are set in the recent past and most of my characters are 80s babies, I thought it’s important to highlight the hardships faced identifying your sexuality in a time when it wasn’t widely talked about. When we didn’t have access to learn and understand what demi-sexuality or being pan-sexual was. I show the inner turmoil one faced when feeling like there was something “wrong” with them because they didn’t feel society would accept them for their unique and beautiful differences.

As a queer woman with bipolar I. I didn’t often find books growing up that made me feel entirely seen. My dream is to let everyone know They’re Not Alone. A way to help me achieve this is by writing characters my readers can identify with and see themselves in. I will continue to write unapologetic love stories that will break your heart before putting it back together again.

My characters are a colorful patchwork quilt, embracing one another for their differences and in the similarities that bring them together. I have fierce yet fragile FMCs. Some exude confidence and independence while others are shy and sweet. My MMCs all lean toward being those ooey gooey cinnamon roll men that you can’t help but love. However, there is a sprinkle of dark and broody, the broken boys, the ones that have so much love to give when they find the one who understands their heart. My characters are flawed, unapologetic and unfiltered. Some far more than others. I hope you fall in love with them as much as I have.

What you can find in all my Series

Slightly damaged characters growing up in small-towns in the 80s/90s. A lot of nostalgia for gen X and millennials with throwbacks and pop culture references, because let’s face it, those were the best years. Conversations surrounding mental health and sexuality. I include on-page therapy sessions and plenty of safe spaces where my characters are able to open up, be vulnerable, and find their true selves. There’s found family, deep friendships, platonic love, and relatable characters. Plenty of banter, a little bit of sass, and foul mouths. As I have grown more comfortable in my writing and am finding my voice, the spice has gone from mild to hot and the filter is non-existent by my third series. I’m an unfiltered glitter ball of chaos, might as well let that shine in my writing.

What I'm Working On

My currently released novels, Cherry Trail: A Story from Havenburg and Making Shadows With Their Footprints are the first novel in their series. What started as one book quickly grew as I had over ten years of stories ready to be told.

One series became three and each takes place or centers around a small town in Michigan. All one world with three separate series that all have a slightly different feel.

Each individual series is interconnected within themselves as well as having a few overlapping characters throughout. However, it won’t be necessary to read all three series for the stories to make sense. The Havenburg Series would be best read in order, while the other two could be read out of order if you don’t mind minor spoilers.

My books primarily fall under contemp. romance but sometimes lean a little dark. All three have LGBTQIA+ Rep, contain themes of found family, small town vibes, pop culture references, usually 80s/90s/00s throwbacks, and Mental Illness Rep. I cover sensitive and difficult topics with care. All my books contain a list of Trigger Warnings and can be found on my website as well.

The Havenburg Series

My first series that includes Cherry Trail. it starts of sweet, think 10 things I hate about you with a little more sex. as the series progresses however the books have more sex, heavier themes, and higher stakes.

The next two books in this series were sparked by this idea that came to me in the middle of the night. I had been writing short stories but not sure what to do with them, and realized these characters had greater stories to tell. So, I decided to use them. ever wonder what happened to your fav minor characters? I’ve given them all their very own books.

Books 2 & 3 of The Havenburg Series are already completed drafts and currently awaiting edits. The books are a duet of sorts with an ensemble cast telling the love stories of five couples and how all of their lives intertwine on their journey to love and happiness.

This series covers mental illness, addiction, loss, coming out, and religious trauma.

The Raven's Wood Series

This series is unapologetic. There is so much angst, heartache, loss, and trauma as the MCs navigate life and love. This series has quickly become one of my favorite things I’ve written. As I have become more comfortable in my writing I’ve embraced my voice and in this one I have allowed my unhinged, unfiltered self to shine. you can expect a lot of swearing, weird humor, and a handful of dirty c*m sl*ts. and because it’s me, there’s some magical realism here too.

This series features multiple Neurodivergent MCs, has LGBTQIA+ Rep, and Poly Rep. it has on page therapy, found family, and morally grey characters. It leans toward dark romance and covers mental illness, childhood trauma, loss, coming out and addiction.

The Harper's Edge Series

This series starts off with Making Shadows With Their Footprints. This series starts off rawer than my prior series with spicier scenes, morally grey MCs, and a touch of magical realism. Norah and James’ story is one of my favorites and means so much to me. Unfortunately, the next few books of that series got put on hold when the characters of my third series made their presence known and refused to be silenced.

This series covers mental illness, specifically bipolar I, loss, self-harm and abusive/toxic relationships.
